Lina Ocolisan is a Sydney based artist who delves into the human experience through her ceramic sculptures and vessels. Driven by social and cultural commentary, her works are a narrative for contemporary issues.
Lina’s multicultural background and formative years, being raised in Arnhem Land, have shaped her unique cultural perspective, enhancing her love of travel.
After a successful career in finance, Lina was introduced to the world of ceramics, where her curiosity and passion for learning flourished. The tactile, meditative process of working with clay resonated deeply with her, providing a medium through which she could express her rich and varied life experiences.
Loving a challenge, Lina was attracted to the endless potential of slip casting. Experimenting with unorthodox methods, she dismembers and reassembles plaster moulds to create unique and bespoke forms.
“Every unveiling is exhilarating, even the disasters which send me down another slip casting rabbit hole, excite me with possibilities”.
